Steps for Viewing Videoclips:

  1. Download QuickTime
  2. Check the system requirements
  3. Download the videos for viewing
  • Please note that you are not required to use the online videos. The course video tape contains the same video clips and can be purchased with the course materials.



Download QuickTime in order to view the videoclips. Click on the QT icon and follow the instructions.

To download QuickTime please click on the 'QuickTime' icon above. This will take you to the Apple Corporation QuickTime download registration page. Here you will be asked to fill in your e-mail address and select a button indicating whether you have a MAC or a PC. Once you click on their 'Download QuickTime' button you will be taken to the site where instructions for downloading the file are. Follow the instructions as best you can. System Requirements:

The video clips used in this Web site have been compressed using QuickTime. In order to see the video clips and the graphics capabilities of this Web site you will need the following minimum specifications for your hardware and software:

  • At least a processor that operates at 150Mhz.
  • 16-bits sound card and speakers.
  • 800x600 monitor resolution and thousands of colors.
  • QuickTime installed (Plug-in and MoviePlayer).
  • Netscape Navigator 4 or Internet Explorer 4 or greater installed.

Enough bandwidth to download the 1 MB average video clips.
Typical downloading time is the following:

28.8K phone modem 5 to 8 min.
56K phone modem 3 to 5 min.
T1 line 3 to 5 sec.
Cable modems 1 sec.
How to determine which brouser's version you are using?

From your browser, go to the Help menu at top and choose "About...."

From your browser, go to the Apple menu at top left. Choose either "About Netscape" or "About Internet Explorer."


Downloading and Playing Video Clips:

You can download and save the video clips in your hard drive during a previous session using the right button of the video control. Also, you can go to Class Information - Course Materials in this site for information about how to order the clips in videotape (VHS).
If the font's size of this page seem to be too big, go to the top menu [Edit-Preferences] of your browser and change its font size at your convenience.
If the sound of the videos is not loud enough, even at maximum level of the volume controls (your computer and the video) you can overdrive the audio holding the Shift key down while clicking on the Volume Control button of the video.
