to Access Software Programs in the DOE Labs |

The applications 'dock' is generally located at the bottom
of the screen and has icons for the various software programs
that are the most common types used on the lab machines. |

If you do not find the software you need double-click
the 'Macintosh HD' directory in the top right hand corner
of the screen. |

Choose the Applications folder on the hard drive. |
| |

Choose the software you would like to use. The list of
software available are those software packages supported
by the Department. |

to get help using software. |
| |
•
Check for the software's own built-in help section. Whenever
you open a program, check the rightmost item of the menu
bar for the 'Help' section. Microsoft Office has extensive
support including a table of contents, index, and search
engine. In the 'Help' section, you can sometimes find
built-in tutorials, such as iMovie. |

Ask a lab assistant during scheduled hours. |
